I’ve been a pretty busy boy lately and have been collaborating with some great peeps from all over the world.
These are some decks that I’ve recently done with artists Gavin Strange, WSUMS aka Danny Wainright and a little gifty deck to celebrate the 10th anniversary of 5050 Board shop in Bristol… Congrats Danny!!
There will be even more exciting stuff coming down the line with these gents and I in the coming months so peek ya peepers peeled!
I SOOOO want to go out to LA and have a chance to see this show at Gallery 1988. If you haven’t already checked these pics out, do youself a favor and DO IT!! :)
Here is a video re-capping the Xynthetic Carbon and Chemicals show of my friend Gavin Strange and the rest of the Xyn Crew!! Great work on the art and great work to Jonny Clooney on the video!!
Here is a link to a show that I really wanted to attend that opened on Friday night at Melt Gallery in LA.
It was curated by Steven Daily http://www.stevendaily.com/ who is a “billy bad ass” in his own right but he slapped together a group of talent to cover cartoons from the 80’s.
I really liked seeing the shots from the show and it brings back some pretty fond memories of these “toons” I watched as a kiddo.
For some reason, I felt a little clammy and sweaty when I saw the picture of “Castle GreySkull” that Steven painted. Guess it was a flash back to all those times that I would run as hard and as fast as I could after school to be able to catch “He-Man”. Dunno… :)
Hellooo out there guys and gurls in internet land…
I wanted to take a sec to post a few pics of the Laser’s Edge skate deck show that opened on Friday night at McLeod Residence in Seattle. It is realitively new, so if you haven’t checked it out yet, you definitely should because it is vastly different than most of the galleries I’ve attended. :)
I’d also like to thank everyone for coming out and supporting the artists and the gallery. Your time is VERY much appreciated!!!!
The show was great and I received quite a bit of positive feedback on “my decks”… just want to clarify… “my laser engraved SKATE DECKS”… apparently, in a crowded, noisy room those words can be misunderstood and lead to some VERY strange looks…. :P
Mcleod is also the only place that I know of that has a huge portrait of Michael Jackson made entirely out of ceral! When I first saw it, I thought it was a painting and then when I got closer… That’s when I was super impressed!
Chris Webber doing his “thang”
Some shots of “show visitors”
Shot of their sick little bar
Me with Augie Pagan who did the “Scarecrow” deck design
If you happen to go out to Mcleod, make sure you pay a visit to the bathroom and check out the “mirror”. It’s truely like no other!!
Once again, thank you to the good folks at Mcleod, Kristen at Schmancy, and most importantly, to my family who has been incredibly supportive of my endevours!! I love you!!!
